Cutting on the cost of running a business is causing many business people to do away with some of their employees so that they can pay less salaries at the end of each financial year. This is not right at all in as much as it sounds good. There are those employees who are so important in a business and once you do way with their services, the business may not work well. Besides, there are tasks that a certain business must handle for it to achieve the set goals. I find it so hard to tolerate very cold temperatures. Even when I stand beside the freezer in the grocery, I literally freeze until I cannot move. One thing that I really wish I had was a portable heater so I can use it wherever I go. My house has already been modified to have heating units all over. Though most would only have their units placed indoors, I considered outdoor fireplaces.
This is perfect for me so I will be able to stay outside of the house even during the night. My birthday lies on the “ber” months and I did not have the courage to have parties outdoors because of the cold weather I could not stand. This year, I might consider having my party in the backyard now that I have a fireplace outside. I know my guests might be surprised that I have this outdoors but this is what I really need- A fireplace to keep me warm during this time of the day. |

I seem to be forever working on my house and garden. I recently bought one of those cheap gazebos for my garden, and I've generally cleaned up my garden space. My bathroom is small and cramped. You can rest your head on the sink while sitting on the toilet. There’s no room to expand the bathroom within the current house. I’d like to build an addition outside the house to expand the current bathroom and add a second one. The addition would go on the north side of the house and extend along the house past the bedroom window. The bedroom window would then be expanded into a doorway into the new master bathroom. The old bathroom would become part of an expanded bathroom and laundry room. The floors of both bathrooms would have radiant heat beneath them. The master bathroom would have a bathtub and a separate shower stall. The guest bath would just have a shower stall – with a pretty curtain so the room could look like a powder room when there weren’t overnight guests. Having a master bath, a guest bath and a laundry area on the 1st floor of the house would make the house much nicer to live in and give the house more value for when I want to sell it. |

You will probably contradict my suggestion of getting more than one grinder for your kitchen. After all, a spice grinderis very useful in grinding almost anything – from coffee beans to any kind of spices. Well that’s just the reason why you will need another grinder. Unless you are very diligent in cleaning out your grinder before using it to grind another ingredient, you risk mixing the flavors of the spices that you just grounded with the coffee beans you will be grinding next.
Another reason is that some models of the grinders have blades built to grind specific ingredients. The kind of grinders you use to ground spices may not be durable enough to grind harder and larger beans. Some grinders may be very useful in the kitchen but you can’t exactly take them out for use the dining room. When a guest asks for a spice grinder, you will normally hand him a portable hand-cranked pepper grinder not the huge electric Krupp’s grinder you use in the kitchen. |

When you are building your house this is the perfect opportunity to customize the design of your closet. Most building plans will only show you a floor plan of where your cabinets will be installed but rarely how it will look on the inside. You can sit down with your contractor and discuss on how you would want the interior of your closet to be designed. You do have to remember that in doing so you are creating the perfect closet storage space to your liking.
In designing your closet don’t forget to include several shelves and drawers for clothes than can be folded and other stuff like jewelry or underwear that can’t be hung. A shelf that is 12” deep is also appropriate for storage of large items that can be folded like linen, towels and blankets. Clothes rods are important for items that have to be hung. If your cabinet is over 9 feet tall then you can have two layers of rods installed one on top of the other. |

Water is a very important substance in the world. We, humans, are made out of 70% water. So we drink water to compensate the water we lose everyday. But some potable water can be contaminated due to the pollution we created. The early detection of these contaminated water will save our life and to our loved ones. There are many ways to know if the water is contaminated. Water problems can easily be detected through its taste, smell and the appearance.
These are the signs of contaminated water:
• Strong metallic taste: In some regions, metallic taste is present in the water. Manganese and iron are two examples of metals that are found in water that are easy to identify.
• Hydrogen Sulfide Odor: it is caused by an organic matter that is decomposing the underground water supplies this produces a “rotten egg” like odor.
• Chlorine taste and odor: Chlorine is used to clean raw water from treatment plants this causes problem when injected in excess or too little.
• Reddish and Brownish color: these contaminated waters are caused by Manganese and Iron.
• Yellowish tint: This tint is caused by particles that are picked up by the water as it moves through peat.
• Green or Bluish Tint: Blue or green tinted water is caused by copper. The copper may be in the water naturally or it may be coming from within your home plumbing system. Copper in your system can lead to staining of tubs, sinks, and clothing. |

I have always been interested in architecture of buildings, the size of the building is not even the matter but how the building was built, how it was maintained and how long it has been standing. I am not even an architecture major, I prefer soft science, but I just fancy such buildings. Just the other day, we got a party to a mansion I have been driving by on the way to watch movies with friends and in more than once I have been caught unawares staring at it forgetting all about traffic and I always got reminded by very angry and impatient drivers. I could not believe that I was actually invited to a party there, I was beside myself with joy. So when the day came and we headed there with my friends, as my friends notices the glamor of the room, I noticed the huge and very thick carpet that the place had. It was so thick that I could feel the fabric of the carpet because I was wearing flat shoes. I even stated thinking about the carpet cleaners who had to clean the carpets. I bet that they had a lot of work and I wondered how they do it in such a way that the carpet does not lose its density. |
